Good quality easy to use. The hard part is separating the two pieces. Practice practice practice...on bottles you don’t need first. I dove right in on some special bottles that I was saving for this and it took until my 3-4 attempt to get the water temperature right. Do not pour boiling water on it, it will crack the bottle, use water that is not quite boiling, make sure you buy a variety pack of wet/dry sandpaper in 120-3000 grit on amazon it you plan on drinking out of them. 120 barely gets the rough edges out. I look forward to getting this down.

I'm on my second one of these. I make candles in cut wine bottles and I sell a lot of them, so I'm often scoring 50 or more bottles at a time. This cutter is fast and relatively easy to use with a 93% success rate after using it for a little over a year. I was up to an 80% success rate with the first 3 months. I was able to cut hundreds of bottles before the blade wore out. Also, when I had a question the seller responded immediately. When this blade wears out, I will definitely buy another.

Love this bottle cutter! After reviewing the tutorial and several videos I decided to try cutting a few bottles, wine champagne and vinegar. Using the boiling water/ice water method the bottles separated easily and to my amazement, perfectly ( maybe beginner's luck). For the champagne bottle (which was a thicker glass) I did place a 1/4 inch rubber band just above and below the score line (prior to cutting) to help channel the water directly on to the scored line. Not sure if this is really necessary however it did separate immediately. For the price this is a great bottle cutter. I would give it 10 stars if I could. I will never look at glass bottles the same way again as I can see many possibilities.

This is a pretty nifty bottle cutter set. I don’t trust the gloves at all, but I’ve had a lot of fun destroying plenty of bottles since I got it. There’s definitely a “touch” to getting it right- getting a feel for pressure, sounds, and speed. The thickness of the glass also has a huge effect on whether or not you’re going to get lucky. My best results come from scoring the glass slowly all the way around once, then wrapping rubber bands on either side of the cut. I slowly pour boiling water from a kettle over the crack while rotating the bottle, then I plunge it into cold water. It helps to have a friend to help to make things easier. Good luck!

This clever apparatus makes it very easy to cut bottles to use for drinking glasses, vases, etc. The device comes 95% assembles with only the brace needed to hold the bottom of the bottle needing to be screwed onto the base. The glass cutting blade is installed, and where the bottle is cut is determined by where the brace is set. The only thing left to do then is to follow the included directions - hold the bottle firmly against the bottom brace and slowly rotate the bottle. When the cutter is operating correctly, you will hear a slight grinding sound. The only issue I had was with breaking the bottle once it was cut. I followed the directions and eventually succeeded, but this is where there is a learning curve. Watching one of the available videos would help. One thing I really liked about the kit was the included pair of gloves to protect the hands when working with glass, especially after it is cut. The included separate glass cutter can be used on its own for any glass project yo might have.
